I can't sing.
Animals in pain sound better than I do.
More melodic. With slightly less yelping.
But that didn't stop me giving it a damn good go. Though I use the word, 'good' in the loosest possible way. Anyway, the new Contrast Podcast is up and this week all contributors had to choose an instrumental track and then sing their introduction. Some of it is pretty. Some of it plain isn't.
Go here to hear me, Fil, Tim, Simon and more forcing our 'singing' voices on you with varying degrees of success. Don't say you haven't been warned.
And while we're on the instrumental theme, I thought I'd stick up a few more songs that were also rans before I settled on my choice.
Rival Schools - grunge model from 'United By Fate'
Hella - gold mine, gold yours from 'Chirpin Hard'
Broken Social Scene - cranley's gonna make it from 'Feel Good Lost'

Oh man.
More than ever I've been smiling this week. There is no joy greater than asking strangers to send you a recording of themselves singing .. and then having it happen .. and then publishing 15 of them in a podcast.
Sheer. Unadulterated. Happiness.
I'm happy you shed your shame and took part Richard. The CP would be a lot less without you.
The only trouble is that I now have to go back to spoken intros!
In a perfect world, Gary Glitter would rule a free and democratic Cuba and cheddar cheese would be the commodity upon which all commerce was conducted.

Ok well I hardly think your singing voice is as bad as you say...But I must give you 52 million kudos for doing that! You are awesome and this Contrast Podcast was so much fun. You and Simone chose my favorites by far. :)
aw, i loved this episode. it was great.
i need to write a blog about it. yes? yes.
I've only listened about twenty minutes in yet, so sounds like I'm in for a treat. Thanks for the props, Rachel, I think Mogwai trump pretty much everything. (is that correct usage of the word props? I'm so street).
