But there's hope and there's light in the shadow

Is something happening up in Scotland?

Something in the water maybe?

First Arab Strap call it quits.

Now Colin's gone and called time on Lets Kiss & Make Up.

And I for one am gutted at the news. I don't know Colin. Never met him. Yet I feel in the short time we've been online buddy's that I've gotten to know a side of him. His music, his views, his comments and his opinions have all brightened my days and LK&MU has been a regular daily visit for me since it's inception. But every so often, real life takes over and family, friends and work have to be priorities. So as gutted as I am, I totally understand why Colin's taking the blue pill and returning to the real world. He's threatened to return in some guise or other and I sincerely look forward to that day. For the time being, I'll keep chasing the white rabbit but I'm under no illusions that someday this little place may also come to an end.

Not just yet though.

And not tonight. For tonight, I send these songs out to Colin.

So here's a great XFM session by the Howling Bells. And how good does Juanita's voice sound? Strong, distinctive, not at all afraid to give it some welly and backed by a band who make the songs come alive. If you get a chance to see them live, take it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. And if you don't own the album, do the decent thing and go buy it now.

Howling Bells - wishing stone (live XFM session)

Howling Bells - blessed night (live XFM session)

Howling Bells - low happening (live XFM session)

Howling Bells - setting sun (live XFM session)

Yes, hearing Colin's news was worse than hearing the split of Arab Strap...

Something happened...there was some fishy business last night when his blog suddenly got all discombobulated.

All I know is Colin is the reason I started my mp3 blog and I do hope his break is not permanent.

You, FiL and Colin are my Armadillos, we are like the three musketeers...

As soon as I read that Let's Kiss & Make Up was going the way of the buffalo (for the time being at least) the first thing I thought of was Rachel. And who has the first comment here? Rachel. You & Rachel turned me onto LK&MU, and I too am none too happy about this development.
