Roll my eyes into my head again

What an absolutely glorious day!

The sun hasn't stopped shining since my bleary eyes first parted this morning.

Not that I got to see much of it. I, like many of you I'm sure, have had to experience it all by looking past my computer screen, over my desk, through a window at work. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the building's toilets are currently blocked up, leaving a distinct 'Eau De Sheet' to waft through the air. Mmmm lovely. Anyway, I know you don't come here to find out about the trivialities of my day. And I'm under no illusion that the mindless drivel I often spout leaves you on the edge of your seat. So I'll get to the point. And tonight's point is to save you money.

Now, I know that you all come here to sample music. To be introduced to new artists. To discover music, whether it be completely new or just new to you. And I also know that you support those artists by buying their wares. The problem is, affording it all. Because let's face it, we all have a limit on our disposable income. And is there anything more annoying than buying a cd in one shop, only to discover it's cheaper somewhere else? Annoying, I think you'll agree. So let that frustration be a thing of the past. Click on What Should I Pay, enter the record you want to buy and it provides you with a comparison of who's selling it, at what price. It truly is a marvel. I've been using it loads lately and it definately gets my independent endorsement. Try it, you might like it!

Much as you might like these three tracks if you give them a chance. A remix from dEUS that replaces the guitars with an insistent, pulsing throb, a few bleeps and a charged electro edge. At first it feels like it's going nowhere. Treading water and going in circles. And then, out of nowhere, it slips into another gear and makes it's mark.

Godspeed also provide us with a grower. Not in the sense that you'll like it the more you hear (though you will) but more in the sense that it builds from nothing into a hulking demonic beast of a track with a powerful, emotional climax.

And finally, local boys Destroy Cowboys prove that sometimes the best bands are the unsigned ones. Hearing this just reminds you how unfair it is that the charts are filled with utter tripe, when bands like this are making music this good. Sadly I still haven't seen them live and am unfortunately pre-booked so will be missing their support slot with The Stills next Wednesday at Birmingham's Bar Academy. Definately a band worthy of your attention and support.

dEUS - if you don't get what you want (The Jagz Kooner Excursion Remix) original version from 'Pocket Revolution'

Godspeed You Black Emperor - east hastings (edit) from 'F#A#Oo'

Destroy Cowboys - the prize
