I know you and you know me

The picture you see above is my unused ticket to see The White Stripes last night.

Unused because I have spent the last two days puking my guts up and emptying my bowels out.

Not nice to say the least. Whether it was a bug or food poisoning, I don't know. What I do know is that it was enough to stop me from seeing Jack and Meg which i am gutted about. Currently I'm feeling about 67% better. Just very low on energy and strength. However, it isn't going to be enough to stop me jetting off to Cannes tomorrow morning. Hopeully I'll be feeling much better by then and well enough to enjoy my quick jaunt abroad.

And it's going to be a bit of a mad week because as soon as I get back, I'll be hopping in a car and heading down to Glastonbury. Which means things are gonna be a little quiet around here for a week and a half. Apologies for that but y'know, us bloggers deserve a break too.

So anyway, here's some songs on a festival and holiday theme. Enjoy. Oh and please keep the place tiday while I'm away.

Mercury Rev - memory of a free festival (David Bowie cover) from 'Stillness Breathes 1991-2006'

dEUS - memory of a festival from 'In A Bar, Under The Sea'

Bright Eyes & The Album Leaf - hungry for a holiday

Jim O'Rourke - happy holidays from 'Eureka'

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci- this summer's been good from the start from 'The Blue Trees'

Sorry I haven't been in to say hi for a while.

Mrs V loved the Marilyn Manson posting the other week. You're now her favourite blogger among the ones I link to simply as you've given space to one of her main men in the world (she has strange taste in men as anyone who has ever met me can testify).

Hope Glastonbury was as wonderful as you hoped despite the shocking weather. I'm long past the days of festival gigs, and admire anyone who is still prepared to slum it in WWI trench-like conditions for three days for the sake of music.

Hope you're blogging again soon..

Sorry to hear you missed the White Stripes, but I hope you feel better now!
