Hugsum Daginn Minn (I think about my day)

I started last week with something loud and noisy courtesy of Johnny Foreigner.

So this weekend I feel like correcting the balance and posting from the other end of the spectrum.

So here's something sparse, elegant and downright beatiful from Sigur Ros. Well, who else could it have been. This set is their performance at last week's Electric Proms show down in London. And yes, it's acoustic. Which means the gorgeous, spectral electric guitars that flood their songs are missing. Replaced by, well not by much really. For while their is an acoustic guitar and bass present, for the most part they're barely audible. Meaning the songs are stripped back almost completely to piano, strings and Jonsi's fragile voice. It makes for an incredibly intimate set. One in which you should be able to hear any movement from the audience. In theory at least. But such is the engrossing nature of the performance, that not one sound is heard from the crowd except for bursts of applause between songs.

And if you haven't seen the trailer for the forthcoming Sigur Ros documentary, then you really need to go here. It looks stunning. The Iceland tourist board must be rubbing their hands with glee. I'm guessing that very soon, it won't just be mom who's gone to Iceland.

Sigur Ros - heima (live acoustic version)

Sigur Ros - samskeyli (live acoustic version)

Sigur Ros - vaka (live acoustic version)

Sigur Ros - von (live acoustic version)

Sigur Ros - staralfur (live acoustic version)

Is there anyway you could re-post the Killer's cover of Morrissey's "Why don't you find out for yourself"... can't seem to find it anywhere... it would be really appreciated!
