Like a castaway on a warm ocean

Wow!

How time flies.

Two years ago today I started this here little blog. The idea was to jot down my random, jumbled musings and post some music. To write about and recommend some music that excites me. Since then, it's grown into a slightly less little blog. Albeit with the same amount of random, jumbled musings and a fair few spelling mistakes. Plus loads of inane witterings. There have been changes. Lots of visitors. Loads of lovely comments. Some friends made. Hours wasted. Music discovered. We've had a disgruntled Jet fan. Some happy bands. And a mention in The Guardian. So yeah ... two years .. wow! I've enjoyed it. Hope you have too.

Of course, if I was any kind of professional blogger, I'd be posting some music based on a theme of birthdays. Or celebrations. Or some other well thought out link. But by now, I'm sure you've worked out that I'm anything but professional. So, here goes a tenuous link. This blog is two years old today. I'd like to do it for at least two more years. 'Two More Years' is the title of a song by Bloc Party. And here's a live set from Bloc Party. Though admittedly, they don't actually play that song. Told you it was tenuous.

Anyway, this is a few songs from their Electric Proms set. A performance which saw them team up with The Exmoor Singers. A choir from London who add choral arrangements, handclaps and foot stamps to some familiar Bloc Party songs. And it sounds pretty damn good too. Adding a slightly more stately atmosphere to the performance, it also manages to return some of the dimensions of the studio that are normally lost when these songs are played live.

Oh and thanks for visiting today and any other day you've popped by in the last 2 years.

Yeah, thanks a lot for the MP3s. I couldn't even find any videos on Youtube so these are great. Keep up the good work with the blog, too!

Happy Birthday to, To Die By Your Side! This is one of the first mp3 blogs I read and it was certainly an inspiration for Untitled Records and it will always be one of my favorite mp3 blogs. Cheers! Here's to many more.
