We got nothing to lose

Seeing Liars live has to be one of the most exhilerating, raucous and unhinged gigs I've experienced.

And despite being recorded in a studio, I think this live session captures that pretty well.

Recorded around the release of the eponymously titled album last year, it features two songs from that album and one from it's predecessor, 'Drums Not Dead'. Two albums definately worth investing in if you haven't already. In fact, to be honest, the band haven't recorded a bad album. They've just recorded very different records. Yet they always manage to make them recognisably Liars. And what always suprises me is their ability to recreate the sheer noise, volume and content of their records. Not because I don't think they're capable of it. Or that they rely too heavily on studio trickery. But because there always sounds like there's more going on than three people could possibly do on their own.

But really you can't fully appreciate how intense Liars live is, unless you're in the middle of a heaving sweaty, unhigned crowd watching them. Apologies if any of you affected by the recent cancellation of Liars tour in favour of a Radiohead support slot find this post too much of an added slap in the face. But this session was too good to leave unposted.

Liars - plaster casts of everything (live session version) original version available on 'Liars'

Liars - pure unevil (live session version) original version available on 'Liars'

Liars - the other side of mount heart attack (live session version) original version available on 'Drums Not Dead'

This is getting funny. I didn't know that Liars actually cancelled a part of their tour in order to support Radiohead - it sounds logical to me, but... just last week their first appearance in Greece was announced, and it's on the exact same night that I'll be in France to see Radiohead, which I've been looking forward to for the last 5 years. And then I read things like this... Oh well, I suppose I'll see them eventually. :-)

Can you re-up these? I'm really interested in hearing them.
