What's fixed as one breaks in two

I wasn't really sure how label these session versions.

So I went with 'stripped back' as it seemed most appropriate.

For these two tracks, Hot Chip have completely removed the upbeat, geeky, dance element and transformed them into laid back, thoughtful and soulful performances. Here, the downbeat melancholia that is normally hinted at, is brought to the fore. 'Made In The Dark' sounds like it could crumble under pressure, such is it's fragility. But it's a treatment that suits the band and the songs pretty damn well. Certainly the band seem to have upped the quality of their live performances compared with the few times I’ve previously seen and heard them on TV and radio.

Anyway, I hope you like these versions because it's all you're getting for the next couple of days as I pack up my bits and pieces into a rucksack and head on down to Glastonbury. So far this morning, the weather has covered a multitude of conditions but the forecast seem pretty positive overall. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Fingers crossed. Anyway, keep the place tidy while I'm away, last one out turn off the lights and I'll see you sometime next week.
