This stumble has become biblical

Just a quick post today because I'm about to make my way to the V Festival.

Not that today's music is in anyway about that.

You see, if I'm completely honest, I'm not all that bothered about going. I think this is the first time ever that I've not been excited about going to a festival. There's a couple of reasons. First is that my mind has been so tied up concentrating on a bunch of other more important things that V seems to have just crept up on me. Second is the line up. It's so uninspiring and unexciting this year that I'm not really that fussed about seeing any of the bands. Sure there are a few gems hidden in there but this year V does seem to have booked a particularly safe and boring line up. Either that or I've seen them enough times before to be completely unenthused about seeing them again. The weather reports aren't helping my mood, as rain is predicted for the entire weekend. I get the feeling the only reason I'm going this year is because the site is about 20 minutes from my door. I also think I might try and take the opportunity to watch some bands that I wouldn't normally bother with. But who knows ... maybe there'll be some amazing performances puled out of the bag and I'll be forced to eat my words. Only time and my full review next week will tell.

Anyway, back to the music. A ramshackle selection chosen at random and linked only by the facts that they are all live and they are all great. Enjoy.

John & Jehn - fear fear fear (live session version). For more John and Jehn click here

The Long Blondes - here comes the serious bit (live session version). For more Long Blondes click here

Liars - freak out (live session version). For more Liars click here

Frightened Rabbit - fast blood (live session version). For more Frightened Rabbit click here
