Collection: Life Magazine 1960s Issues 11-20

I'm back with the 60s and I'm really enjoying it. If you've missed the first part of this post I assure you its wonderful and you should definitely check it out HERE if you enjoy vintage, 60s and fashion. While taking the photographs for this post I thought to myself that I am surely born in the wrong time. I mean I am very delighted of the past from its fashion, music, cinema to its relationships and usage of language. Even in this time I tend to have interest in records, turntables, past tv shows and movies and vintage clothing etc.
Suit and Coat Models for 1960s Spring: I love the fact that a couple of these are from Christian Dior, it shows how rooted it is. Also I found it very entertaining that they explained the color of the suits and coats but the page is black and white. I think this probably expanded the imagination of many of its buyers. I mean there is like a ton of shades for colors. You can't just say a simple blue for turquois.
Spring Clothing from Suits, Leather Jackets and Coats: Besides the fashion sense of this page what I really enjoy is the first photo on the right side of the page. I mean isn't the way she's standing very funny. I would never pose like that :)
Cocktail Dresses of the Spring Season: This page I'm in love with. Especially with the first photo on the top left of the page and the photo with the striped dress is absolutely gorgeous. Also isn't it incredible that we actually had a come back of the same type dresses on the bottom right of this page? I think it is. Past is definitely the future.
Various Spring Clothing: Fantastic I must say. Everything looks fine made :) Although it is weird to take a photo with just the leg of a statue.. Anways, yolo.
Simply exquisite! I would totally wear the last one if I was tall enough to pull it off :)
FASHION Pierre Cardin's Spring Line: I love seeing familiar names in old magazines. Its pretty cool how far they have come in their line and they are probably going to live on forever. Anyways have you seen how incredibly chic that lace covered/collared coat is? Somebody throw that on me! :)
The Night Dresses of this Year are Long Again: I don't care if they are long, they sure are pretty. I gotta say my fave is the 5th one on the top line. I can't say no to polka-dots :)
Norman Hartnell The Tailor of the Queen of England: Well, not much to say about this set besides the fact that everything is obviously one of a kind.
Nina Ricci: It says that this famous tailor used chemisettes for most of her designs and I could totally see it. I mean it sure became a signature for her and she used it well. Very well indeed.
4 Models from Christian Dior: Dior seemed to know where to find beautiful women to carry his wonderful designs.
Pierre Balmain: My fave from the bunch is the one with the bows on the bottom right :)

Hope you had a good read because it was fun for me to write. I always believe I should've been born in the 60s and spend my teenage-young adult years during the 70s-80s but no can do. At least the 90s was okay but the 2000s have really lost it. What year do you think you belong to? I would love to know!

Collection: Film Cameras (Goal Recap)

Many of you know that I love to take photographs, especially film. Last year my mom opened up her stuff from her childhood/teenage years and she gave me 4 of her film cameras. I had already shot with one of them when I was in 7th grade in America but then digital became soo popular in seconds that we switched to it also.  Shooting with my moms film camera (Canon Prima TwinS) after such a long time was definitely a crazy experience. I didn't know if it worked or how the photos would come out but I just kept shooting. Of course they turned out pretty cool and had me addicted to it. Seeing my addiction turn into lovely photographs made me happy and made my family members see how happy this hobby made me. Therefore my grandmother gave me 2 cameras that were lying around her house. Gosh I was so happy that day! That was the day that I met my Smena 8m!

After a while everyone knew that this was truly a hobby that I was very exited about. My cousin told me she had a Polaroid Impulse laying around the house somewhere that she could hand over to me. I just thought "well this is my lucky day" :) She told me the film is really tough to find and I told her I would try my best to find it! (No luck so far! It uses 600 film, I know Impossible Project has them but they are pretty expensive)

Slowly my camera collection was getting bigger but I still didn't have a camera that could give me really fine results. So I went out and bought myself Zenit 122. It was cheep and it had all the features I needed. Right now its my "go to" camera because I know it won't let me down.

Just recently I received 2 cameras from my uncle. He gave me his Agfa Optima 200 and Henrycon A-8000s. I'm overly delighted for these because now I can cross off something from my goals of 2013! You can see what I'm talking about by clicking HERE.

Photography is a shelter to me. I could always count on it to make me feel safe in this world, knowing that not everything is bad and I have the power to capture the beautiful things. Having a hobby that can bring you up when your down is a great feeling. Have a great day!

Collection: Life Magazine 1960s Issues 1-10

This collection is my grandfathers and he collected about 52 issues of this magazine and they are all so wonderful. I love vintage. I love the 60s. Having said that I know a lot of people would agree with me that these are just very very delicate images. I decided to share them so you can get a glimpse of the fashion from that time. These magazines are of course in my own language but I believe its called LIFE in english. I'll try to translate some of the titles on the fashion pages, maybe you'll find them interesting. Also, I'll make a comment of what I like best from the page and I would like to see your thoughts also :)
How Should Teenage Girls Dress?: I really like the title of this one because it calls out to young girls like me and it just automatically grabs my attention. My fave is the one with the white hat and the really lovely dress. I just think the dress is really feminine and it ends really smoothly giving that small waist and wide shoulders look.
Models From Chanel: Well who wouldn't want to see the old Chanel? I would. All three are pretty tied up for me but I really like the fact that they used bows and ties.
1960's Spring Fashion: The first thing I saw here was the hats. I like hats but I only liked two of them here because the others very too long on the top head part. I'm just not a big fan of hats being that long! So that narrows it down for me to choose my favorite which is the first photo under the title BAHAR MODASI. I just love the whole outfit. The hat, the gloves and even the backround of that image is amazing!
Wool Models: Well don't we all wear sweaters in winter? I know I do! Anyways I don't like wool and turtle neck together it just seems too hot so my fave is the one where the women is pointing her fingers to each other (all the way on the bottom left!).
For Spring and Summer: Doesn't it seem like these are a bit thick and conservative for summer time? I mean they still have like coats and jackets on some of them. Maybe it was colder back in the days when the sky was more clear and less poluted, I don't know. Anyway I chose three faves for this page which are the first photo on the top left corner and the last two photos on the bottom right. The only one I'm going to talk about is the one with the white collar that looks like a cape. I mean that whole cape thing by itself is a win for me but the dress is also so wonderful! But I can't really say the same about the white head piece :/
Tunic, Lace, Plait: Well these just remind me of the current fashion, espacially the lace part. I actually love all of these expect for maybe the one in the middle on the bottom. I think those are just for grandma's but thats my view of course. But I think my ultimate fave would be the last one (the bottom right). It would be perfect dress to go somewhere special. I mean the neckline is gorgeous and the little belt is just the cherry on top!
I want every single one of these in my wardrobe! I mean for real, please! These are all pretty much the same style. All of them have the tight top and the puffy skirt style. I really like that because I don't like dresses that show every little detail in your body, especially the hips.
5 Models From Tiktiner: Another page I totaly fell in love with! I mean look at that polka-dot dress with the scalloped skirt. Thats just a dreamy dress! Oh and the last one thats glittery reminds me of Cassie Ainswort from skins. She loved gold  and glittery things :)

Hats For Spring: As I've said before I really don't like long hats that show your head like a cone so my fave from the bunch is the one on the bottom right. Its flat on the top and has a nice feminine touch that surrounds the hat.
1960s Spring and Summer Fashion: I don't really have much to say about this page because its not my style. They all look very elegant and going to work outfits but I guess I can say that if I lived in the 60s I wouldn't be interested in these. The only thing I really love in this page is the coat from the first photo. I think it looks very well made and totally exquisite!

Collection: Stamps

On my last post I mentioned that my mother had a huge stamp collection that she allowed me to continue to grow, so I decided I wanted to share it with my readers. I couldn't photograph every single one because there are way too many and some aren't organized and put into the stamp albums yet. I took a couple of photographs of my favorite pages. Hope you love them too and find it as interesting as I do!
This box contains stamps that haven't been washed and stamps that have been washed but haven't been put into stamp albums yet. If you are interested on knowing how to seperate stamps (wash) from paper than I will make a tutorial, it is not hard but needs a lot of concentration. You can see that I have lots of organizing to do :)
The last two are two of many of my favorites. The first being that they are from the same group of stamps makes it more interesting to me. They have a theme and my mom manged to collect a bunch of them. I also like the fact that they have a title "Royal Visit to Japan" So cool! The other one that I am holding has Atatürk's portrait and his Adress To Youth written on it. I love it that it is very much detailed.

Book of Nature: Pressing Plants

Probably the cheesiest title I have ever come up with but it is the truth. This is my book of nature. It is where I keep my lovely pressed plants. I have been pressing plants my whole life (who hasn't) but it has never accured to me until this year that I could actually keep them forever on these wonderful pages.
The plants that I have collected have always somehow dissappeared from the pages of the heavy books I kept them in but now I take them into my precious little notebook and play around with them to see how they would look good, or how they would not break (believe me they are so fragile at this point). Right now these are the only plants I have gotten this Autumn. Maybe in the future I will stumble upon more beautiful plants that I could fill up the pages with.
This is probably my favorithe page right now. I love that when I collected that plant it was closer to a blackish purple but now it is becoming lighter and much more beautiful. So here are a couple close-up shots.
If you have free time in your hands, this is definitely an activity to fill it up with. Oh and thank you for all the wonderful comments you have been leaving! You guys are my favorite :)
